We’re here to help families thrive.
Growing Up Hope Society believes that families are stronger together. We support families through our unique family programs; and through our community outreach programs. We enable parents to build both the skills and the villages that mitigate the concerns that bring children into care.
Family Programs
Teaching Home Programs
The teaching home program is designed to support a parent and young child together to provide safety when social workers have identified concerns.
Residential Programs
Residential programs are for children and youth with family difficulties or from hard places in our Hazelwood House and Birch House homes.
Outreach Programs
Outreach parenting support is designed to maintain family togetherness while addressing concerns or challenges within the family structure or dynamic.
Supported Visitations
Our outreach team supports parent access and visitation when children are in the care of the Ministry. We support visits in the family home and community.

“First and foremost the program works. I was involved with Growing Up Hope for over a year, and I count myself lucky and thank you every day for the training and support because I am a better parent for my son.
I would have been lost without the support that I got from the staff at GUH and I was able to do the program and learn so many things that helped me become the parent that I want to be. The tips the tricks and information help me know what my baby was trying to communicate instead of guessing and making more mistakes that I would have wanted.
Growing Up Hope was creative when it came to helping me navigate visitations, including home visits and overnights and even assisted with me attending medical and hospital appointments for my baby. Without GUH I would have not have seen a full return to my care as quickly and I think that I might still be fighting. With their help I was able to work with the social worker team, understand and know the expectations that I needed to meet. It would have been a swim uphill, backwards, in gravy.”
